     ·         Actively worked on the student newspaper at Texarkana College as a reporter,             layout and design, and photographer.

·         Fulfilled a summer internship at the Texarkana Gazette as copy editor/page designer. Currently holding two positions in print media.

·         Placed first at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) conference for feature writing and third for page design in 2004.

·         Won 15 individual awards and two staff awards at the TIPA conference in 2005 setting a record for the most awards won by an individual.

·         Was elected TIPA president for the student board in 2005.

·         Served as vice president for the Mass Communication Club at Texas A&M in 2005.

·         Served as secretary on, Student Affairs Council, SAC and president of Mass Communication 2006.

·         Currently serving as the Vice-President on the Student Affairs Council, SAC, Chancellor Student Advisory Board and the University Presidential Search Committee.
