Instructional Technology

Is the theory and practice of design, development, utilization,management and evaluation of processes and resources for learning.


Instructional Technology in the words defined mean a discipline devoted to techniques or ways to make learning more efficient based on theory but theory in its broadest sense, not just scientific theory.

DESIGN                  AECT Standard 1
Candidates demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to design conditions for learning by applying principles of instructional systems design, message design, instructional strategies, and learner characteristics

DEVELOPMENT    AECT Standard 2

Candidates demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to develop instructional materials and experience using print, audiovisual, computer-based, and integrated  technologies

Utilizes ITED 511, 512 &  521

UTILIZATION        AECT Standard 3
Candidates demonstrate the knowledge, skills and disposition to uses and processes and resources for learning by applying principles and theories of media utilization, diffusion, implementation and policy-making

Utilizes ITED 521, 523 & 524

MANAGEMENT     AECT Standard 4
Candidates demonstrate the knowledge, skills and disposition to plan , organize, coordinate, and supervise instructional technology by applying principles of project resource, delivery system, and information management.

Utilizes ITED 511, 521, 523, 524, 530, & 540

EVALUATION       AECT Standard 5
Candidates demonstrate the knowledge, skills and disposition to evaluate the adequacy of instruction and learning by applying principles of problem analysis , criterion-referenced measurement, formative and summative evaluation and long-range planning.
