Instructional Technology

Tonya Domokos

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for taking time to visit my professional portfolio. I am

currently completing my master's degree in Instructional Technology.

This degree plan has been challenging and informative. I know I will take

the knowledge I have gained through this program and build a future on

it.

I just wanted to take this time to share with you some of the highlights

from the last few semesters.

Enjoy and if you are just beginning this program ... hang in there it is

more than worth it and if you are nearing the end of your

coursework...congratulations!

Reflections of the beginning of my journey...

My fields of interests are journalism, public relations, instructional

technology, youth outreach, and prevention education, grant writing and

research.

I began my journey through the Instructional Technology, ITED, and

Master's Program after completing my Bachelors of Science Degree with

emphases in Mass Communication. The term Instructional Technology was

completely foreign to me when I first began searching for a degree plan

that would be complimentary to my mass communication studies.

It was one course in the ITED degree program that captured my

attention; ITED 521, Instructional Video and Multimedia: Production and

Utilization.

The words video and multimedia turned my focus to this degree. I

stepped into this degree plan with an expectation of building on my mass

communication skills of video production and this program has not only

met my expectations but exceed them.

I have gone from a novice in the education field to a level of

knowledge that allows me to know I can design curriculum, evaluate a

program, assess a target audience, and to utilize learning and teaching

models, foundations and theories.

I currently am the B.E.A.T. Tobacco Control Project Director for the

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences AHEC SW. My primary job

description is community and youth prevention education. I began my

career at UAMS during my second semester of the ITED program. From day

one in this position, the opportunities to utilize the knowledge I have

gained from this program have been abundant. Without the initial courses

of ITED 501 Instructional Technology Foundations, Systems, and Theory I

would not have had the confidence to apply for the project director

position.
